The Seattle Kraken have called up Finnish forward Jani Nyman to their NHL roster, who is currently on a hot scoring streak.

On Saturday, the Kraken announced that they had recalled the 22-year-old forward from the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Nyman has been one of the biggest success stories in the AHL this season.

The Finn leads the farm league’s goal scoring chart with nine goals. Nyman has achieved this impressive goal tally in just ten games, during which he has accumulated a total of 11 points.

Nyman’s latest goal came in the early hours of Saturday against the San Jose Barracuda. The forward received a pass from Logan Morrison and went in practically alone to score behind Ilja Samsonov. Coachella Valley lost the game 2–5.

The NHL call-up is also influenced by the forward situation in Seattle. The Kraken also reported that Jared McCann will be out for the team’s next game due to a lower body injury. The status of McCann’s injury is being evaluated.

Nyman appeared in 28 games for the Kraken last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
