Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid continues his impressive scoring streak in the NHL. The superstar was again unstoppable as the Oilers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in a shootout with a score of 6–5.

McDavid was one of the biggest stars of the match, scoring two goals and assisting on three others. He was also heavily involved in Edmonton’s comeback in the third period, during which the team closed a two-goal deficit.

McDavid’s start to the season has been nothing short of dazzling. After ten games, he already has 31 points (8+23), averaging 3.1 points per game.

The Oilers’ top star has scored points in every game this season. His five-point haul against Carolina was already his third of the season.

McDavid’s scoring pace is also historically significant by NHL standards. Besides him, only Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, and Wayne Gretzky have reached the 30-point milestone in the first ten games of a season or faster. Lemieux achieved this feat three times.

McDavid has taken a clear lead in the NHL scoring race. Second-placed Leon Draisaitl is already ten points behind him.

Draisaitl also enjoyed a five-point night against Carolina, finishing with stats of 2+3, just like McDavid.
