In September, unexpectedly retiring player Jori Lehterä still sparks interest in hockey clubs.

Iltalehti’s Lätkäpodissa journalist Timo Kunnari reveals that several clubs have inquired about the willingness of the 38-year-old center to return to the ice.

Lehterä’s name has also come up after the coaching change at HIFK. The Helsinki club dismissed head coach Olli Jokinen on Wednesday and appointed Tommi Miettinen as his replacement.

According to information from Kunnari’s agency, however, HIFK has not been pursuing Lehterä.

– Many clubs have reportedly asked about Lehterä, but HIFK is not one of them. Lehterä has retired, Kunnari says in the podcast.
