Teemu Pulkkinen changes scenery – here is the new team
Teemu Pulkkinen, 33, is changing scenery and leaving Kiekko-Vantaa behind. He is exercising the option in his contract to move abroad.
– I am really grateful for the opportunity to return to the Finnish ice hockey scene through Kiekko-Vantaa. The club, teammates, and the entire community treated me excellently from start to finish. This experience reignited my passion, and I am eagerly heading towards the next challenges, Pulkkinen commented in the club’s press release.
Pulkkinen managed to play eight Mestis matches for Kiekko-Vantaa. In those, he recorded 7+1 points. Currently, he is the top scorer in the league.
Pulkkinen will continue his career with Starbulls Rosenheim in the second highest league in Germany. The team already has two Finns: goalkeeper Oskar Autio and forward Ville Järveläinen.
Pulkkinen’s transfer to Kiekko-Vantaa caused a huge uproar in the fall. Pulkkinen was the only Finn who continued his career in the KHL after spring 2022, when Russia had started its invasion of Ukraine.
