Swedish source: SHL champion is marketing his Finnish duo
The reigning champion club of SHL, Luleå HF, is shopping two Finnish players, reports Hockeynews.
According to the Swedish site, the recently strengthened team with Linus Omark and Ben Tardif is looking for takers for the underperforming forward Heikki Liedes and defenseman Kasper Kotkansalo.
Of the duo that moved from Kiekko-Espoo to Luleå this season, Kotkansalo, 26, has gone completely without points in 20 games this early in the season. Liedes has recorded modest stats of 1+2=3 in 21 games.
The reason for parting with the duo is the club’s dream of bringing back Oskari Laaksonen, who has been sidelined in a minor role in Switzerland this early in the season. The defenseman, who has fallen off the foreign player quota in Biel-Bienne, played 24 regular season games for Luleå HF last season with stats of 5+13=18. In the playoffs, he scored 0+5 in seven games.
