The San Jose Sharks have placed Stanley Cup champion Nick Leddy on the trade list in the NHL.

Any other NHL team can now choose to pick up the veteran defenseman in the next 24 hours without any trade compensation.

Leddy has been part of the Sharks’ active roster for 19 games this season, where the 34-year-old American has recorded 0+4 points.

In 16 seasons in the NHL, the defenseman has played over 1000 regular-season games and joined the Sharks this season from the St. Louis Blues. Leddy, who won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks, earns four million dollars this season.

If no team picks up the veteran from the trade list, the defenseman’s career will likely continue in the AHL farm league during his final contract year.
