Source: Swedish clubs interested in the two-time Stanley Cup winner
Experienced NHL forward Brandon Saad is currently without a team for the next season. Expressen reports that there is interest in Saad from Sweden.
According to Expressen’s reporter Johan Svensson, SHL teams Brynäs and Djurgården are interested in Saad. However, Svensson notes that hiring Saad would be very expensive for the teams.
Saad, 33, played the previous one and a half seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights. In previous years, Saad had impressive scoring rates, but his scoring pace slowed last season, as he recorded only 3+6 points in 49 regular season games and 0+2 in five playoff games.
In his NHL career, Saad has played a total of 984 regular season games (269+269=538) and 116 playoff games (27+32=59). He has also represented the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, and St. Louis Blues. Saad won two Stanley Cups in Chicago in 2013 and 2015.
Saad has surpassed the 50-point mark in his NHL career in three different seasons.
