The Young Lions started the World Junior Summer Showcase tournament on Sunday evening by facing the United States white team. Finland won their opening match convincingly with a score of 4-1.
The Young Lions scored all their goals in the first period. The scorers were Jeremi Virtanen, Aapo Vanninen, Aapo Katavisto, and Jere Somervuori. The only goal for the USA team came from Brent Solomon in the second period.
Finland continues its tournament on Monday evening starting at 10:00 PM. Next, they will face the United States blue team.
