Skates to the wall – NHL veteran retires!
Goalkeeper Aaron Dell, 36, who has played eight seasons in the NHL, is retiring from his extensive playing career. The man announced this on his Instagram account.
Dell spent most of his career in the San Jose Sharks organization. The undrafted goalie played 118 regular season games in the NHL with a save percentage of 90.5%. His winning percentage in the NHL was 50%.
– After a 13-year professional career, it’s time for me to hang up my skates and leave my playing days behind. I want to thank all the people who believed in me and supported me throughout my career. I had many ups and downs. The undrafted 183 cm tall goalie who got the chance from the San Jose Sharks organization. I had the honor of playing with names like Nabokov, Thornton, Pavelski, Marleau, Couture, Karlsson, Burns, and many other great players whom I consider friends – I feel very lucky, Dell says in his Instagram post.
Last season, Dell played in the Sharks’ farm teams in the AHL and ECHL.
