Risto Dufva returns as head coach
Risto Dufva continues his head coaching career in the Mestis.
Joensuun Kiekko-Pojat announced on Thursday that they have signed the 62-year-old veteran coach to a 1+1 year contract.
Dufva joined the Kiekko-Pojat coaching team at the end of this season, where he served as an assistant coach to Juha-Matti Kemppainen.
– Kiekko-Pojat is a club where I see a lot of potential. The competition in the Mestis is getting tougher, but that is what makes this challenge exciting. I want to bring clear structures to the team’s operations both on and off the ice, Dufva says in Kiekko-Pojat’s announcement.
Dufva’s coaching team will also include the Joensuu ice hockey icon Markku Kyllönen and Mikko Rämö next season.
