Now it’s settled – NHL superstar has chosen Dallas!
Jason Robertson will continue with the Dallas Stars next season as well. The team and the American forward reached a last-minute agreement on a one-year extension, which meant that NHL arbitration was ultimately not needed.
With his new contract, Robertson will earn 12 million dollars next season. This is a significant increase, as his previous contract had an annual salary of 7.75 million dollars.
Robertson had previously taken his salary matters to arbitration. If the parties had not found a common solution, an impartial arbitrator would have determined the forward’s salary, and both the player and the Dallas Stars would have had to accept the decision. However, the contract was finalized before the process concluded.
The 27-year-old Robertson was the most effective player for the Dallas Stars last season. He scored 45 goals in the NHL regular season and accumulated a total of 96 points.
During the summer, Robertson’s name also came up in trade talks. The Dallas Stars were in negotiations with the Seattle Kraken regarding a potential trade, but the deal fell through when Robertson stated that he would not have signed an extension with Seattle.
According to insider reports, the Seattle Kraken were willing to offer the forward an eight-year contract worth 15 million dollars per season. However, Robertson did not accept the offer.
