Finnish goaltender Niclas Westerholm is changing scenery after this season, reports Expressen. According to the Swedish newspaper, Westerholm will not continue with Södertälje SK next season.

Expressen reports that Södertälje, playing in the Swedish second tier, has acquired Teodor Munther as their new goaltender for next season. The newspaper states that among the team’s current goaltenders, Love Härenstam will remain with the club, while Westerholm will leave.

Södertälje’s season is still ongoing, as they face Björklöven in the Allsvenskan semifinals. Westerholm has played ten regular season games for the club this season with a save percentage of 90.8, as well as three playoff games with a save percentage of 94.4.

Westerholm, 28, has represented three different clubs this season. He started the season in the Czech Republic with BK Mlada Boleslav, playing three games with a save percentage of 89.0. Next, he moved to HC Motor Ceske Budejovice in the same league, where he played nine games with a save percentage of 90.3. Westerholm transferred to Södertälje in December.

Before this season, Westerholm played several years in the Liiga, representing Kärpät and SaiPa. He has played 240 regular season games in the Liiga.

Westerholm has also played two games for the Lions in the EHT during his career.
