New Finnish name in Ville Peltosen coaching team – familiar from HIFK years
The Swiss NL club Genève-Servette HC has made changes to its coaching staff.
The team’s assistant coach Pierre Allard is leaving his position at the club. He is moving to the ICEHL league as the head coach of the Austrian team Villacher SV.
In place of Allard, Servette has hired Samuel Tilkanen as the new assistant coach on a contract for the remainder of the season. Tilkanen, 36, has previously coached in Switzerland, having served as the assistant and video coach for SC Bern under Kari Jalonen from 2016 to 2020.
Tilkanen is also a familiar face to Servette’s current head coach Ville Peltonen. Tilkanen was an assistant coach for HIFK under Peltonen for the last four seasons. Peltonen and Tilkanen both left HIFK at the end of last season.
Peltonen started this season as Servette’s assistant coach, but he was appointed head coach for the remainder of the season in place of Yorick Treille, who was dismissed at the beginning of October. Pekka Kangasalusta is also serving as an assistant coach for Servette.
Servette is currently in fourth place in the Swiss top league.
