The Montreal Canadiens have suffered two significant setbacks.
Forward Alex Newhook has undergone ankle surgery. According to the team’s announcement, he will be out of games for the next four months.
Defenseman Kaiden Guhle has also been on the operating table to treat a torn muscle. He will be sidelined for eight to ten weeks.
In the first 17 games of the season, Newhook recorded stats of 6+6=12. Defenseman Guhle managed to play five games before his surgery, collecting stats of 1+1 in those games.
