MM tournament forward: transfer to the League!
Kiekko-Espoo received a top-tier reinforcement for its offense as Danish forward Mathias From joins the team for next season on a one-year contract.
The 28-year-old From arrives in Espoo from the ICEHL club Klagenfurter AC, where he managed to score 96 points in 92 regular-season games over two seasons with 48 goals and 48 assists. The Dane quickly became a fan favorite in Austria with his strong performances.
A fifth-round pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2016 NHL Draft, From has played in several top European leagues throughout his career. He has experience in Sweden’s SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan, Germany’s DEL league, and Denmark’s top league.
From is also a familiar name in the Danish national team. The forward has represented his country in five World Championships and is currently preparing for new World Championship tournaments in Switzerland.
From himself is already eagerly looking forward to the move to Espoo.
– I am excited to join the team! It will be great to meet all the fans and teammates. Have a great summer, and see you soon, From commented from the World Championship camp in Kiekko-Espoo’s statement.
