The Ilves defense prospect Ossi Tukio continues his career in North America. The Regina Pats, playing in the WHL, announced that they have signed a scholarship and development agreement with the 18-year-old Finnish defenseman.

Regina Pats’ GM Dale Derkatch stated in the club’s announcement that he is pleased that Tukio is joining the team.

− We are very excited to sign with Ossi on a WHL scholarship and development agreement. He is a defenseman with strong offensive instincts who enjoys joining the attack and creating scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

− Ossi has the ability to contribute to the power play, and his skills will bring a new dynamic element to our defense. We believe he has tremendous potential, and we are excited to welcome him to Regina and support his development both on and off the ice.

Last season, Tukio appeared once for Ilves’ senior team in the Liiga regular season. He recorded one assist in that game. Overall, he has played four games in Ilves’ Liiga team during his career.

For most of last season, the defenseman played in the U20 SM league. He recorded 9+16 points in 34 regular season games and added 1+3 points in ten playoff games.
