Urheilucast: A “completely outrageous” offer was made to Teemu Turunen – these Liiga teams are on his heels!
The SHL team Örebro HK announced on Saturday that they have terminated the contract of Finnish forward Teemu Turunen, which was set to last for the upcoming season. Turunen is returning to Finland for personal reasons.
Turunen is moving back to the Liiga for the next season. Urheilucast reports now in their Instagram stories that two Liiga teams are competing for Turunen: Jokerit and Kärpät.
– Jokerit has made a “completely outrageous” offer for Turunen. Kärpät is also in the race, with their corner room granting GM Kapas extra maneuverability for this acquisition, Urheilucast writes in their Instagram stories.
Turunen, 30, is originally from Helsinki and a product of Jokerit. He has represented the team during his junior years and in the KHL during the 2021-22 season. Turunen played for Kärpät from 2022 to 2025.
Last season, Turunen scored 14 points with 7 goals and 7 assists in 29 regular-season games in Sweden, as well as 2 assists in three playoff games.
