Veteran forward Harri Pesonen, 37, who won Olympic gold in 2022 and world championships in 2019 and 2022, is playing his seventh season with the SCL Tigers and is currently in his 11th season in Switzerland.
Pesonen’s contract with the Tigers ends after this season. However, if he wishes, Pesonen has the opportunity to stay with the club for next season as well. According to Watson, SCL Tigers has offered Pesonen an extension.
Pesonen has served as the team’s captain since the 2022-23 season. He has played 21 games this season with a total of 6+6=12 points. Overall, Pesonen has played 507 regular season games in Switzerland (174+201=375) and 36 playoff games (8+18=26).
In Finland, Pesonen last played in the 2011-12 season with JYP. He has also played four NHL games with the New Jersey Devils, and has experience in the AHL and KHL.
