Finnish goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo leaves the Finnish rinks behind and moves back to North America. He has signed a contract with ECHL team Wheeling Nailers.

Kaskisuo, 32, moved to Mestis last December to join Joensuun Kiekko-Poikien. He played 15 games for the team with a save percentage of 88.4. Prior to that, he had played one ECHL game with the Utah Grizzlies during the early part of the season.

Kaskisuo has played in North America during the seasons 2013-2021 and 2023-26. He has played two NHL games, one with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the other with the Nashville Predators. Additionally, Kaskisuo has 108 AHL games and 47 ECHL games to his name.

During the 2021-23 seasons, Kaskisuo played in the SHL, where he represented the team Leksands IF.
