Jesse Puljujärvi was ejected!
Jesse Puljujärvi received a game misconduct on Wednesday in the Swiss top league. The Finnish forward representing Genève-Servette had his match against Lausanne cut short in the first period.
Puljujärvi was penalized with a 5+20 minute penalty for a hit to the head at 13:53.
The Swiss newspaper Blick reports that Puljujärvi hit Lausanne’s Erik Brännström in the head with his elbow during the incident.
The ejection occurred in the midst of Puljujärvi’s strong start to the season. The player, who celebrated a world championship with the Lions last spring, has scored 6+5=11 points in his first seven games.
Before Wednesday’s round, Puljujärvi was second in the Swiss top league scoring race. The top spot was held by Finnish forward Kristian Tanus from Ajoie.
