IL: Kasimir Kaskisuo moves to Finland – here is the new address!
Finnish goalkeeper Kasimir Kaskisuo, 32, is making a return to Finnish ice hockey after more than 12 years.
According to Iltalehti, Kaskisuo is moving to Joensuun Kiekko-Pojat, which plays in the Mestis league. Kaskisuo will join the team immediately.
This season, Kaskisuo has played only one ECHL game with the Utah Grizzlies. He recorded a shutout in that match.
Kaskisuo last played in Finland during the 2012-13 season, when he represented Jokerit’s U20 team. Since then, he has mainly played in North America, where he has also accumulated two NHL games: one with the Toronto Maple Leafs and another with the Nashville Predators. In the AHL, Kaskisuo has played over a hundred games.
In the 2021-23 seasons, Kaskisuo played in the SHL representing Leksands IF.
JoKP is currently third in the Mestis league. They have announced their intention to seek a Liiga spot for next season if sporting success allows it. JoKP can apply for a place in the Liiga by winning the Mestis championship this season or reaching the finals against Jokerit.
