If Tom Wilson challenges you to a fight, will you fight? Direct words from the Czech Radko Gudasil.

The Czech Republic has made its way to the quarter-finals of the Olympics. The team defeated Denmark in a tight match in the first round of the playoffs with a score of 3-2.

In the quarter-finals, they will face the tournament’s biggest favorite, Canada. The teams already met in the group stage, where Canada was better with a score of 5-0.

The experienced Czech defender Radko Gudas shared his views on how the Czech Republic should play now to achieve a different result.

– This is one of their best teams of all time. We need to work hard, Gudas said.

– Both teams have developed [since the first meeting]. We need to get the puck to the right areas. We have to get the puck deep enough that they have to turn their backs to the game.

– They can score from anywhere. We need to stay out of the box; they have really strong players on the power play. They have a very skilled and fast team. We have a chance if we play smart.

Gudas is known for his tough play and sometimes rough tactics. On the Canadian side, there is Gudas’s former teammate Tom Wilson, who already fought against France.

We asked Gudas if he is ready to drop the gloves if Wilson challenges him to a fight.

– Of course! He was my neighbor in Washington, so I don’t think he will pick me out of there. But yes, I just think it would be a bigger loss for Canada than for the Czech Republic if we fight, Gudas amused the reporters.

What about whether he plans to take the game away from Sidney Crosby?

– I plan to hit anyone who comes my way. I would be just as surprised if he didn’t hit me when the opportunity arises.
