The Finnish under-18 boys’ national team will play in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup from August 11 to 16. The tournament will take place in Brno, Czech Republic, and Trencin, Slovakia. The Little Lions prepared for the tournament earlier this week at the camp in Vierumäki, where the team for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup was selected.
The Little Lions will face Canada, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland in the group stage. In the other group are Sweden, the United States, Slovakia, and Germany. After the group stage, the tournament will continue either with the semifinals and medal games or placement matches.
Matches of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup can be followed on the TV5 channel and the streaming service HBO Max. The freely available TV5 will show the Little Lions’ matches against Canada and Switzerland, as well as the second medal match on the final day of the tournament, depending on Finland’s situation. HBO Max will also show the Little Lions’ match against the Czech Republic, both semifinals, and the second medal match. If the Little Lions play in a placement match, it will be available on HBO Max.
The commentators for the tournament will be Juhavaltteri Salminen and Nuutti Vihtilä.
