MM-gold lion Oliwer Kasken‘s career continues as he moves to the Malmö Redhawks playing in the SHL. The Swedish club confirmed the transfer on their website on Thursday.

Kasken’s new contract is for one year. The 30-year-old defenseman played in the German DEL last season, where he scored 11+27=38 points in 48 regular season games with Köln.

– Oliwer brings us experience and leadership. He has seen a lot of the world in his career and played in the four biggest leagues in Europe, Malmö’s sports director Oscar Alsenfelt said in a statement.

Kaski will have his former teammate Janne Kuokkanen as a playing partner in Malmö.

He is excited to see a familiar face in Janne Kuokkanen again.

– It’s fun to meet Janne again. We had good chemistry in the AHL and have talked about how fun it would be to play together again, Kaski says.

Kaski won gold at the World Championships in 2019. The defenseman has also represented the Lions at the World Championships in 2021 and 2024.
