Former Kärpät forward: the team is changing
The Canadian forward Troy Bourke, 32, known from Kärpät’s jersey, has entered the free agent market. His previous club EC Salzburg announces that it will not offer Bourke a contract extension, so he leaves the club and is looking for a new team.
Bourke represented the Austrian Salzburg in the multinational ICEHL league for four seasons, winning three championships with the club. He played a total of 129 games, scoring 42+66=108 points. Last season, Bourke recorded 15+19=34 points in 39 games.
Bourke played in the Liiga for Kärpät during the 2021-22 season. He scored 12+24=36 points in 53 regular season games and was the second highest scorer on the team. In the playoffs, Bourke scored one goal in seven games.
Before his Liiga season, Bourke played two seasons in Germany. Prior to that, he played in the AHL, where he has accumulated over 200 games.
