Finland joins the new 3vs3 tournament – here is the team!
A new three-on-three ice hockey tournament, Hype Hockey 8 Nations Cup, is being held in Latvia this weekend. The tournament takes place in Riga at the Xiaomi Arena on July 18 and 19.
The tournament features Slovakia, Sweden, Germany, and Hungary in Group A, and Finland, Latvia, Czech Republic, and Estonia in Group B. The matches consist of three seven-minute periods.
The Finnish team for the tournament is confirmed. The field players in the Finnish team include Pekka Jormakka, Heikki Liedes, Leo Komarov, Tomi Sallinen, Joonas Rask, Julius Honka, Santeri Huovila, and Leevi Tukiainen. In goal for Finland is Petteri Rimpinen.
Finland will play against the Czech Republic and Latvia on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a match against Estonia and the continuation of the tournament.
Finland recently won the 3ICE World Cup tournament held in Belfast, which was also played three-on-three.
