For the upcoming season, the Italian team Milano HC, which is joining the multinational ICEHL league, has acquired a new Finnish reinforcement for its coaching staff. Pekka Kangasalusta joins the team as an assistant coach.

Milano previously announced that it has hired Doug Shedden as the head coach and Sakari Lindfors as the assistant and goaltending coach. Now the coaching staff is completed with Kangasalusta.

Kangasalusta, 48, has worked as an assistant coach in Switzerland for the last two seasons. Last season he was with Genève-Servette HC and the season before that with SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.

In his coaching career, Kangasalusta has also served as an assistant coach for the German national team, where he won a silver medal at the World Championship in 2023. During the 2017-18 season, Kangasalusta was part of the coaching staff for the Lions.

As a head coach, Kangasalusta has worked with Jukurit and the German Bietigheim Steelers. He has also served as an assistant coach for HIFK, Jokerit, HC Slovan Bratislava, and EHC München.

At this stage, Milano HC has only announced four player signings for the upcoming season: Wade Allison, Nick Caamano, Greg McKegg, and Nick Saracino.
