Czech Republic announced its team for the Olympics - one Liiga player made the cut

The Czech Republic announced its team for the February Olympics.

The Czech team includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, and 14 forwards. Of the selected names, 12 play in the NHL, one in the AHL, and the rest in Europe.

Some of the brightest NHL stars on the team are David Pastrnak and Martin Necas. The entire goalkeeper trio is also from the NHL. From the AHL, David Spacek made the cut.

From the league, the Czech Olympic team selected defender Jiri Tichacek. Among the players competing in Europe is also the 40-year-old Roman Cervenka, who will be participating in his fifth Olympics.

The Czech Republic will play in the Olympic group stage against Canada, Switzerland, and France.
