The forward Saku Mäenalanen, 31, who won gold in the World Championships and the Olympics with the Lions in 2022, will continue to play in Switzerland next season.

The NL team SCL Tigers has signed a one-year extension with Mäenalanen.

Mäenalanen is playing his third season with the Tigers. He has played a total of 96 games for the club, scoring 23+31=54 points. This season, he has recorded 4+12=16 points in 25 games.

– Saku is a player we can rely on in all situations. His versatility, physicality, defensive skills, and willingness to work hard for the team make him an important part of our team, commented SCL Tigers’ sports director Pascal Müller in the club’s statement.

Mäenalanen will be seen in the Lions’ team in December at the EHT tournament in Switzerland.
