Canadian forward Derick Brassard, 38, returned to action last week after more than two and a half years away from the game. He signed a contract for the remainder of the season with Swiss NL team Genève-Servette HC.
Brassard made his debut with Servette on Friday against the SCL Tigers. However, his game ended in the second period due to an injury.
Brassard had logged just five and a half minutes of ice time in the game when a lower-body injury ended his play. Servette now reports that Brassard will be sidelined for four weeks due to his injury.
Brassard last played in the spring of 2023. In the NHL, he played over 1,100 games combined in the regular season and playoffs.
