The Tampa Bay Lightning has signed Swiss defenseman Janis
Jerome Moser to an eight-year contract extension. The deal guarantees Moser an annual salary of $6.75 million, making the total value of the contract $54 million.
Moser’s new contract will take effect next season and runs through 2034. This season, Moser will earn an additional $3.375 million.
Moser, 25, is in his second season in Tampa. He has recorded 12 points (3+9) in 35 games this season. Moser’s plus/minus rating is an impressive +25.
Originally, Moser was the Arizona Coyotes’ 2nd round pick (#60) in 2021. He played three seasons in Arizona before moving to Tampa. In the NHL, Moser has played a total of 294 regular season games (21+77=98) and five playoff games.
