Tre Kronor reacts to the Leijonat loss – made significant changes to their lineup
Sweden, which lost to Finland 1-4 in the Milano-Cortina Olympics on Friday, has made significant changes to its lineup for the Slovakia match on Saturday.
The goalkeeper Filip Gustavsson, who performed hesitantly in the country’s first two tournament games, has been completely dropped from the lineup for Saturday’s match. Jacob Markström will start in goal for Sweden, with Jesper Wallstedt opening the gate.
Star forward Filip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators, who started as the 13th forward in the Italy and Finland matches, will also rise in the line rotations. Forsberg will start the Slovakia match on the third line alongside Elias Pettersson and Marcus Johansson. Jesper Bratt has been dropped from the line rotations to the 13th forward.
The match between Sweden and Slovakia is also significant for the Lions. If Sweden secures a regulation-time victory with a score of 4-1, Finland still has a chance to claw its way to the top of Group B based on goal difference, which would mean a direct quarter-final spot.
