Top season player Janne Juvonen: the following seasons are clear!

Finnish goalkeeper Janne Juvonen, 31, will continue his career in Germany for several more years. The top team in the DEL league, Kölner Haie, has announced that they have signed a three-year extension with Juvonen, which runs until the spring of 2029.

This season, Juvonen, who moved to Cologne, is having a strong year. He has won 25 out of 31 games. Juvonen’s save percentage is 93.2, his goals against average is 2.01, and he has played five shutouts. Juvonen has the best save percentage in the league and the most shutouts, while he is second in the wins statistic.

– Janne has adapted to our team very well since arriving here last October and has shown his excellent level from day one. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the league and has played an important role in our season. We look forward to the future with him, the club’s sports director Matthias Baldys commented in the club’s announcement.

– I am happy to play for Haie in the coming years as well. I feel very good in Cologne. Haie is a great organization with high goals. I want to help the club succeed in the future, Juvonen commented.

Kölner Haie has already secured the regular season victory, with only two games remaining before the playoffs. The team’s head coach is Kari Jalonen, the assistant coach is Fredrik Norrena, and the goalie coach is Tommi Satosaari. In addition to Juvonen, the team also features Finnish players Oliwer Kaski, Valtteri Kemiläinen, Markus Nutivaara, Veli-Matti Vittasmäki, and Juhani Tyrväinen.

Earlier in his career, Juvonen represented Pelicans in the Liiga and Jokerit in the KHL. He has a World Championship silver medal with the Lions from 2021. Juvonen has also played in Switzerland, Sweden, and Austria.
