To new landscapes – tough NHL veteran Ryan Reaves was traded
The Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks have made a trade in the NHL.
In the trade, tough veteran forward Ryan Reaves moves to the Sharks. In return, Toronto receives defenseman Henry Thrun.
Reaves, 38, represented Toronto for two seasons. Last season, he played 35 NHL games with 0+2 points and three AHL games with the Toronto Marlies, scoring one goal.
In his NHL career, Reaves has played 912 regular season games (63+74=137) accumulating 1,100 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he has played 113 games (3+6=9) recording 116 penalty minutes. Besides Toronto, Reaves has represented the St. Louis Blues, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vegas Golden Knights, New York Rangers, and Minnesota Wild.
Thrun, 24, played 119 games for the Sharks over the last three seasons, with a scoring record of 5+20=25. Last season, he finished with 2+10=12 points in 60 games. Thrun is a 4th round draft pick (#101) by the Anaheim Ducks from 2019.
Both players’ contracts extend through next season. Reaves earns an average of $1.35 million per season, while Thrun earns $1 million.
