The national team player changes clubs for the remainder of the season – moves to familiar surroundings
Vaasan Sport announces that the team’s Norwegian forward Philip Granath is moving back to his youth club Frisk Asker in the Norwegian top league for the remainder of the season.
Granath has a valid contract with Sport until the 2026-27 season, so the forward will return to Sport’s roster next season.
Granath, 23, played his debut season with Sport. He recorded 20 points with 6 goals and 14 assists in 39 games this season.
In the previous three seasons, Granath represented Tappara. He won the Finnish championship twice with the club and once the CHL championship.
In recent years, Granath has also been seen in the Norwegian national team. He participated in the World Championships in the spring of 2023.
Granath has not previously played for the representative team of his youth club. The last time he played for the club’s juniors was in the 2017-18 season. Before moving to the Liiga, Granath played in Sweden.
