Switzerland slaughtered the small country – NHL star broke the World Championship record
The host country Switzerland made a clear mark against the World Championship’s minnow Hungary in Saturday’s match. Alongside Canada and Finland, the cuckoo clock country, one of the tournament’s biggest favorites, defeated the small nation with a score of 9-0.
Switzerland’s NHL star defender Roman Josi broke a World Championship record in the match. The long-time captain of the Nashville Predators scored a hat trick in just four minutes and 45 seconds. This is the fastest hat trick ever recorded in World Championship history. Josi also collected two assists in the game.
Switzerland’s star memory Sven Andrighetto accumulated stats of 1+4. The forward, who now has totals of 4+9=13 in the tournament, leads the scoring chart.
After Saturday, Switzerland has won all six of its preliminary round matches in the World Championship. The victory in Group A will be decided on Tuesday when the hosts face Finland in the final match of the preliminary round.
The Lions still have a match against Austria before the Switzerland game. Finland will meet Austria, which started the tournament with three wins but was humiliated in its fourth game against Switzerland, losing 0-9, in an evening match starting on Sunday at 21:20.
