The moment is approaching: The resolution of the NHL superstar’s trade saga is near
The departure of Connor Hellebuyck, who has been awarded the NHL’s best goaltender three times, from the Winnipeg Jets is just a matter of time, claims insider reporter Elliotte Friedman.
According to Friedman, the situation of the American star, who submitted a trade request to the Jets early this summer, is expected to be resolved within a week.
– The organization has acknowledged the fact that a trade must happen and it will happen, Friedman states on his 32 Thoughts podcast.
Insider sources indicate that at least three teams are currently in the Hellebuyck sweepstakes: the Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres, and Utah Mammoth.
Among the goaltenders of these teams, at least Sabres’ Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Mammoth’s Karel Vejmelka have been rumored to be included in a potential Hellebuyck trade.
In the case of Carolina, Winnipeg is believed to be demanding at least a defenseman Aleksandr Nikishin, who currently does not have a contract extension, one goaltender, and a top 9 forward in return.
