Chris Kreider: new team from the NHL!
NHL star forward Chris Kreider is moving to the Montreal Canadiens. He has signed a one-year contract worth $2.15 million with the team.
According to Puckpedia, Kreider’s contract also includes performance bonuses totaling $3.25 million.
Kreider, 35, played last season with the Anaheim Ducks, appearing in 75 regular-season games with points of 22+28=50 and 12 playoff games with stats of 2+5. Kreider’s contract, which guaranteed him $6.5 million in annual earnings, would have covered the upcoming season, but Anaheim placed Kreider on waivers earlier this week, thus terminating the player’s contract.
Before last season, Kreider had played his entire NHL career with the New York Rangers. He has played a total of 958 regular-season games in the NHL (348+284=632) and 135 playoff games (50+33=83).
The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a one-year contract (2026-27) with forward Chris Kreider.
