Now it is certain: the first country out of the World Cup
Great Britain lost to Latvia in the World Championships on Sunday with a score of 0-6. At the same time, it was confirmed that Great Britain will drop from the main series of the World Championships to Division 1 next year.
Great Britain has lost all six matches it has played in the tournament with a goal difference of 4-29. It will face Germany on Monday, but even a three-point victory would not save it. With zero points, Great Britain is three points behind Hungary, and if the teams end up tied on points, Hungary would be ahead based on their head-to-head match.
In recent years, Great Britain has frequently moved between the top level of the World Championships and Division 1. It was promoted to the top level this year, but the visit lasted only a year again.
The relegation from the other group is still open. It will be determined after the match between Slovenia and Italy on Monday. Slovenia has three points and Jukka Jalonen‘s Italy has one point. This is a decisive match for both teams in the tournament.
