Norway continued its sensational performances in the World Cup on Monday. It secured yet another surprise victory by defeating the Czech Republic 4-1. At the same time, Norway ensured its place in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2012.

In its previous match, Norway defeated Sweden, and before that, it earned one point against Canada. Additionally, the team has won against Italy and Slovenia in the tournament. It lost its opening match to Slovakia.

With its excellent performances, Norway has already risen to 13 points and second place in Group B. It will face Denmark in the group stage on Tuesday. Thus, maintaining the second place in the group is now in Norway’s own hands.

As a result, it was also confirmed that Canada will win Group B. The Czech Republic is in third place with 13 points, Slovakia fourth with 11 points, and Sweden fifth with nine points. Therefore, the last quarter-final team from the group will be determined on Tuesday in the match between Slovakia and Sweden.

Sweden needs a victory over Slovakia in regular time to reach the quarter-finals. In all other cases, the quarter-final spot will go to Slovakia, which would mean that Sweden remains in the group stage.

In Group A, Finland and Switzerland will play for the group victory on Tuesday. The opponent of the Lions in the quarter-finals could still be either Norway, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, or Sweden.
