A fierce fight was seen between two heavyweights in the match between the San Jose Sharks and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Right in the second minute of the game, San Jose’s Ryan Reaves and Philadelphia’s Garrett Wilson clashed in the neutral zone. Both tough guys landed many solid hits until the fight came to a rather quick conclusion.

The reason for the fight’s conclusion became clear quickly. In the heat of the fight, Reaves’ finger got dislocated. The power forward was not fazed by this and tried to pop his finger back into place himself. Reaves was unsuccessful, so he went to the bench, where the trainer fixed the finger.

– Oh dear, I don’t want to see that. Goodness gracious, the TV broadcast commentator lamented what he saw.

Reaves did not return to the ice for the rest of the game, but he spent the remainder of the match on the bench. After the game, Sharks forward Barclay Goodrow was asked about Reaves’ significance to the team. Goodrow became emotional to the point of tears.

– He is an incredible teammate… sorry… he is… He is a guy who gives his all every night. He is a great friend. He is the best guy. Even if he doesn’t play, he supports everyone. He works relentlessly every day. Everyone can learn from him, Goodrow said.

San Jose ultimately lost the game with a score of 1-4.
