NHL superstar as the top name: Germany announced its team for the Olympics

Germany has announced its national team for the men’s ice hockey tournament at the Winter Olympics starting in February.

The country’s overwhelmingly biggest name is naturally the superstar of the Edmonton Oilers, Leon Draisaitl. In total, one goalkeeper, one defender, and seven forwards were selected from the NHL, making a total of nine players.

The largest representation comes from the country’s top league, the DEL, with six players selected from Adler Mannheim.
