NHL: echoed – Jarmo Kekäläinen signed a top prospect with a massive contract worth over 50 million dollars
Buffalo Sabres’ Finnish GM Jarmo Kekäläinen has secured a forward prospect with a long-term contract. The Sabres announce that they have signed Swedish forward Noah Östlund to an eight-year extension. The deal is worth a total of 52.8 million dollars, ensuring Östlund an annual income of 6.6 million dollars.
Östlund, 22, was the Sabres’ first-round 16th overall pick in 2022. His entry-level contract is still valid for the upcoming season, so the new deal will take effect in a year.
Last season, Östlund recorded 27 points (11+16) in 60 regular-season games with the Sabres. In the playoffs, he registered 1+1 in three games.
Östlund has played two seasons in North America. In his rookie season, he mostly played in the minors, but he also appeared in eight NHL games.
We have signed Noah Ostlund to an eight-year contract extension with an AAV of $6.6 million.
