Montreal Canadiens active in the NHL – now a new extension has been signed
On Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens, who acquired veteran forward Chris Kreider from the free market, have continued to be active in the NHL player market.
The team announced on Sunday that they have signed former first-round pick Zachary Bolduc, 23, who was acquired from the St. Louis Blues last offseason, to a four-year contract extension.
The 183-centimeter forward will earn 4.2 million dollars per season from the new contract.
Bolduc became a restricted free agent after last season, so the creation of a new contract was one of the Canadiens’ most important unfinished business items of the summer.
Bolduc’s first season in Montreal was promising. The Canadian collected 30 points in 78 regular-season games with stats of 12+18=30. In the playoffs, Bolduc scored 7 points in 19 games with stats of 3+4=7.
