Eero Elo continues his ice hockey career at a surprising address. The 36-year-old forward from Rauma moves from the DEL2 team EHC Freiburg to the third tier in Germany, ESV Kaufbeuren.
Elo played three seasons in Freiburg and was one of the team’s brightest stars. He accumulated over 120 games and more than 120 points with the club.
In Kaufbeuren, the Finnish representation is already strong. The team also includes Jere Laaksonen and Sami Blomqvist, both of whom are familiar from the Liiga.
Elo has played abroad almost continuously since the 2015–2016 season. His career has included games in the KHL, Switzerland’s top league, and various levels of the German leagues. In Finland, he has represented Rauman Lukko and Porin Ässät in the Liiga.
