National team star shining in the league: new club
The French national team defender Yohann Auvitu, 36, who has played in the league for eight seasons, returns to the top league of his home country after a long stint abroad.
Auvitu, who has represented France 11 times in the World Championships, will play for Grenoble in the upcoming season. The veteran defender played last season for HC Vitkovice in the Czech league (29 games with 0+1 points) and for Black Wings Linz in the ICEHL (21 games with 1+13 points).
Throughout his long career, Auvitu has played in addition to the aforementioned leagues in the Swiss top league, NHL, AHL, and KHL.
The man has celebrated championships in his career with Geneva-Servette in Switzerland in 2023 and with JYP in 2012. In the league, Auvitu also represented HIFK for two seasons in addition to JYP.
Auvitu has been named the best defender in the league once.
