TPS strengthened its goalkeeper department: “It left a good taste”
TPS has assembled its goaltending department for the upcoming season. The Turku club has signed a comprehensive contract with Markus Ruus, 28.
Ruus played on loan at TPS last spring for three games. In those, his save percentage was 90.9.
– Both Maken and I had a good taste from our collaboration in the spring, and that helped us bring him back to Turku. As a good team player and a tough competitor, he brings us an important addition towards a physically and mentally tough season. With this trio, I believe we will gain a competitive edge when we get to train effectively and optimally for everyone, which hopefully will be reflected in even better game performances. At the same time, we ensure that Aatu gets to play continuously, which is vital for his development at this stage, TPS’s goaltending coach Johannes Selin says on the club’s website.
In addition to Ruus, TPS’s goaltending department has secured Eetu Mäkiniemi and Noa Vali for the upcoming season. Aatu Niittymäki is seeking playing time outside the Liiga team.
