Kiekko-Espoo’s rise to the Liiga has been twofold. On the ice, the club has performed at least adequately, while financially, the operations have been at an unsustainable level.
According to Helsingin Sanomat, Kiekko-Espoo’s season 2025–26 is significantly loss-making. The club’s chairman Arto Linnervuo states that the deficit is about 800,000 euros.
Kiekko-Espoo’s first season in the Liiga was also heavily loss-making. The losses amounted to 717,000 euros, so over two years, the total losses exceed 1.5 million euros.
In the past season, Kiekko-Espoo’s average attendance was 3,890. This figure clearly dropped from the previous season, when the average attendance was 4,264.
