Jukka Jalonen’s harsh decision on his work – these countries will drop out of the World Cup
Jukka Jalonen led Italy to a loss against Slovenia on Monday in the World Championships with a score of 1-5. At the same time, it was confirmed that Italy will drop to Division 1 next year, while Slovenia continues at the top level of the World Championships.
Italy lost all seven of its matches in the tournament with a goal difference of 5-28. The team only earned one point in the standings after losing to Denmark in a shootout.
At the same time, Jalonen’s two-year tenure as head coach of the Italian national team came to an end. A year ago, Jalonen led Italy from Division 1 to the World Championships. He also guided the team in this year’s Olympic tournament.
It was already confirmed on Sunday that Great Britain will drop to Division 1 from the second group of the World Championships.
