The Pittsburgh Penguins have waived players from their NHL roster. One player who received bad news is Finnish forward Joona Koppanen, 27, whose team has placed him on the trade list. Koppanen’s next destination is the AHL, unless another NHL team picks him up.
This season, Koppanen has played ten games with Pittsburgh’s NHL team. In those games, he has recorded one assist. In the AHL, he has accumulated 1+1 points in six games.
Koppanen has had a long career in North America, but he has played relatively few games in the NHL. Over the years, Koppanen has played 30 NHL games and recorded 1+2 points in those games.
